You can take your kids anywhere to learn how to dance. But if you want them to learn in a small, loving, fun, non-competitive environment this is the school for you. As the mother of two children at opposite ends of the learning curve, I value the time their dance teachers have put into teaching each of them in the way they learn best. To me that is the most important thing.
Shannon Carney is such an outstanding dance teacher. Both my daughters have taken class with Shannon for a few years and they adore her. Not only are they learning great dance skills from her, but they also learn how to take care of themselves. They have better posture and overall confidence in themselves.
My daughter has been attending the Dance Academy since they opened in 2005, she thinks “Miss Shannon is awesome and makes dance seem easy and a lot of fun”. I personally think Shannon is very dedicated to her dancers and goes out of her way to get to know each of them personally. She is very positive with the dancers and treats them all equally even when there are differences in their ability. If you have a child who wants to dance the Dance Academy is definitely the studio to join.
Shannon and her teachers are all fun, kind, and professional. My daughter receives quality instruction in a positive way. We are grateful for SCDA!
My girls have been dancing at Miss Shannon’s for three years. Not only do they LOVE Miss Shannon, but they love dancing. Even my “shy” child likes being in the recital! I believe that Miss Shannon truly wants all of her students to LOVE dancing. She makes it fun while they are learning dance technique.
My daughter LOVES Miss Shannon and can’t wait to go to her ballet class each week. Not only is Miss Shannon fantastic with the kids but she does an outstanding job preparing students for the annual recital. An extra bonus that Miss Shannon provides is the TV monitor in the waiting room so we can watch our dancers throughout each class!
